We were honored to be selected to help produce this beautiful case bound book for Dollar Donation Club.
Dollar Donation Club was founded on the simple idea of “What if everyone just gave one dollar?” As an online collective where people can sign up to donate just one dollar each month, the power of potentially millions of dollars in donations comes together to do good for the planet and all its inhabitants.
The Spark is Dollar Donation Club’s $50 Million endowment and investment vehicle that will catalyze “the world’s first collective super-philanthropist.” The case bound book we produced outlines the vision of The Spark and showcases the collective power behind micro-giving and its potential impact across the social, political and geographic spectrum. Wrapped with Cialux uncoated European bookcloth, we hot stamped the cover material in matte brown pigment leaf as well as a shimmering gold foil.
The book’s interior pages were digitally printed in 4 color process onto a crisp Mohawk Superfine cover stock using our HP Indigo 7900 press. We then gathered the leaves and bound them into the turned-edge covers using a PUR binding technique so the book could lay flat.
As beautiful as these photos make the book appear, they simply don’t do justice to actually holding this case bound book in your hands. The feel and texture of the bookcloth communicate a subtle sense of importance that only printed materials can deliver.
