A smooth lamination gives this digitally printed case bound book an ‘otherworldly’ feel.
The weight or heft of a case bound book is generally what makes it seem like an important object. However, when you wrap that book in a luxe matte film lamination, it takes the piece to a whole other level of WOW. These digitally printed case bound books that were crafted for NFL Design’s west coast studio feel like something from the future. Our production artists hand wrapped the crisply printed McCoy Silk text effortlessly around the book board to create a sturdy cover with precise corners and a smooth spine.
Fifteen of these design annuals were printed with personalized back covers for members of the studio and featured their names in “jersey” style lettering. While this would be unheard of when using a traditional printing method (i.e., letterpress, offset lithography, etc.), digitally printed artifacts such as these beautiful case bound books can take advantage of variable data printing.
