Richly toned stocks add to the luxe look and feel of these folding carton candle boxes.
Being fans of minimalist design, we were thrilled at the opportunity to produce these seemingly simple folding carton candle boxes for Philadelphia-based home décor studio, dilo. Printers are often renowned for their ability to embellish – that is, to illuminate paper with ink so as to distinguish it in some special way. Sometimes we’re asked to produce these embellishments with minimal materials and processes and it is with these projects where we feel we really get to shine.
The premium NEENAH Folding Board stocks in Deep Black, Wrought Iron, and Natural and Bright Whites provided a consistently rich base tone onto which we were able to stamp a gloss foil. The relief created was both deep and crisp allowing the sparse typography to be easily readable, yet subtle enough as to not detract from the minimal vibe of dilo’s brand.
One might think that a single hit of foil on a colored stock is a walk in the park, but such types of designs tend to show every mishandling. Looks certainly can be deceiving and we treated this project with white gloves at every step of the way from foil stamping to die cutting and scoring to folding and gluing. The resulting folding carton candle boxes look and feel as luxurious as the scents dispersed from the matching candles held within.
