Also known as a kinegram or picket-fence animation, a barrier-grid animation involves a die cut outer sleeve with a printed insert that contains two separate interlaced images. As the insert slides in and out of the sleeve, the alternating images are displayed within the die cuts of the sleeve, thus producing a simple 2-frame animation.
Here is a stunning laser cut Plexiglass invitation we created for the premiere of an Adidas and Daniel Arsham short film collaboration. Made from clear acrylic Plexiglass and screen printed in white ink, the invitation was then laser cut into the iconic HOURGLASS shape for which the artist has become synonymous.
