Multiple processes combine with variable data printing to inspire a “how’d they do that?!?” response.
We love discovering other printed pieces that look ‘too expensive’ to produce because they show off just how crafty the print trade can be. Since these beautiful invites also needed to function like tickets (with assigned tables and seating), each one had to contain one-of-a-kind data. The only ways to accomplish this was either by creating and swapping out a separate plate for each piece – completely impractical – or by using variable data printing with a digital press.
To create this gorgeous invitation suite, we combined variable data printing with foil stamping, screen printing, embossing and die cutting – along with a few old printer’s tricks like duplexing two sheets back to back to hide the debossing marks.
The resulting piece was something with heft that both felt important and looked unique and special. All qualities one associates with such an important and special occasion.
