If your real estate offering is bulging, it’s time to upgrade to a capacity folder.
Each day at DATAGRAPHIC, we get a chance to create print media that offers tangible advantages and solves problems. Take, for example, this simple, yet elegant capacity folder we produced for a real estate offering at 222 E. Broadway in Manhattan that features a precision register emboss and magnetic closure.
You might believe, if your cup runneth over, that’s always a good thing. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case with your average real estate pocket folder. Designed to hold a few brochures, offer letter and business card at most, standard pocket folders begin to bulge if stuffed beyond a certain quantity with real estate collateral. This could give the luxury tower you’re pitching the unintended impression that it’s wearing a size too small.
Fortunately, we have a solution that will allow you to include all of your materials in a beautifully engineered showpiece that’s sure to help seal the deal. Enter: the capacity folder.
What is a capacity folder?
At DATAGRAPHIC, we’re always thinking of ways to combine processes and finishing techniques that can help our customers achieve their marketing goals while staying within budget. For example, the real estate folder we produced for The Brix included saddle stitched insert leaves printed in the brand’s accent colors. This increased the visual appeal of the folder and also added extra “real estate” to list services and amenities, keeping those would-be pages out of the flat pockets.
As the name implies, a capacity folder can hold a larger amount of printed materials than a standard pocket folder thanks to a three dimensional gusset. The thickness of the gusset is customizable and based on the both the paper stock used to create the folder as well as the materials it must ultimately contain. Additionally, the perfectly scored and folded edges of a capacity folder makes it feel more tangible when filled, like an important object.
How we crafted this register embossed capacity folder.
The elegant Cranes Lettra Impress cover stock we used for these capacity folders makes them feel very sturdy when filled, which sends a subtle, tactile signal to the mind of the (be)holder. Consequently, this 100% cotton paper in the 110# weight is ideally suited for embossing and debossing, as was employed here.
The raised characters of the offering’s identity were not created using thermography, but were instead knocked out of the flood of black ink and then debossed from the reverse side in perfect register. The result is a crisp “raised-ink” effect on the lettering that perfectly matches the Light Aqua cover stock since it is, in fact, the same unprinted surface.
Slots were die cut into the side-loading pockets to hold the letterpress business cards, which were also register embossed and duplexed to a thickness of 220#. We then finished these folders by embedding a hidden magnetic closure to add that “magic” touch.
Why DATAGRAPHIC excels at producing embossed capacity folders.
Embossing is but one of several in-house printing and finishing techniques we can utilize to bring dimension into our customers’ projects. As mult-process masters, we are always experimenting with the plethora of in-house techniques availed to our artisan printers. Decades of experience combining these techniques has enabled us to offer our customers effects and finishes that are largely unachievable by most commercial printers and at a competitive cost.
