Marchioness, the New England-based curators of European antiques, textiles, and garden accents, approached DataGraphic to help them carry on the essence of antiquity through their luxury branded stationery and packaging.
The luxury branded stationery suite we created for them consisted of thick, oversized business cards, notecards with beautifully lined envelopes and custom wax seals, hang tags, belly bands, and place cards – all tastefully brandished with the Marchioness wordmark and monogram.
Inspired by their French Aubusson and Garden & Home themes, we put ourselves in a Marchioness state of mind. Collaborating alongside designer Lindsay Fair of WOMA Design, who assisted in developing the brand’s identity and design, DataGraphic stepped in to create super luxe hang tags with double thick cotton paper, die cut corners, foil stamping, gold edging, and gold roped tassels. These glimmering hang tags catch the eye’s gaze like the antiques themselves.
Detailed correspondence creates a lasting impression, connecting customers to the brand by going the extra mile to make the customer feel satisfied with their purchase and willing to return again. Our challenge was to execute a beautiful bridge between the lost art of letter writing and self promotion. To that end, we concealed a beautiful color pressed print design that gets revealed to the lucky recipient upon opening the blind embossed envelope.
The note card inside the envelope contains a sole burnished gold ‘M’ engraved atop an exquisite Neenah Cotton Fluorescent White Letterpress cover stock. Peeking at the note card edges, they’re die cut with custom corners and edge painting in blue ink. At DataGraphic we obsess over the details that make the experience most memorable.
The lovely Marchioness business card is what will likely stick around and thus needed to convey a high level of quality consistent with their brand. We aimed to stay within the lines with the Neenah Cotton Fluorescent White Letterpress cover stock, burnished gold embossed bouquet of flowers, and the classic Marchioness wordmark. Flipping the card over reveals owner Bethany Berk’s contact information.
