The City of Light gets illuminated by a pocket city guide bursting with local savvy.
In the summer of 2024, the timeless metropolis of Paris played host to the biggest spectacle in the world of sports: the Olympic Games. Tourists from every corner of the globe flooded the City of Light, filling the avenues and boulevards of its arrondissements as they spiraled out from the heart of the city. For the lucky Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders attending the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a locally curated collection of the favorite hangouts of Parisians was revealed to them in a pocket city guide, beautifully printed by DATAGRAPHIC, that was part of an exclusive welcome gift ensemble at the swank Visa Lounge for Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Anyone who has visited Paris in the summer — when the city was not hosting a major global event — has surely experienced overflowing crowds at tourist spots like the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum. With the Olympic Games in town drawing even larger crowds at the city’s popular spots, hiring a local guide to help you do Paris like a Parisian could have cost a small fortune. So, the creative team at Chase Sapphire Reserve conceived this pocket City Guide to provide their cardholders visiting the city during the Olympic Games with insider tips and self-guided tours where they could experience Paris like a local.

Produced for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, this pocket city guide will serve travelers for years to come.
Paris served not only as the grand stage for the breathtaking displays of athleticism that captivated the world, but also offered its charming boulevards, sidewalk cafes, and scenic riverside paths for spectators, adding to the event’s vibrant atmosphere and unforgettable experience. A city the likes of Paris has so much to offer that it can be daunting for visitors to even know where to begin exploring. Fortunately for Chase Sapphire Reserve members, this first-ever pocket City Guide featured “Six Self-Guided Journeys Through Paris,” offering locally-curated “semi-planned” and “semi-serendipitous” excursions off the beaten paths of the historic city.
With an aesthetic befitting of both the locale and competition being celebrated, this pocket city guide was designed to provide the function, look and feel of a perennial travel reference. From its thick, deep navy cover stock to its angle cropped corners to its overall heft, the guide put forth an authoritative air of quality and durability.

How we crafted this beautiful pocket city guide.
Wrapped in a luxurious Mohawk Carnival cover stock, the hefty 96-page guide is every bit a tome — complete with Smyth sewn registers and a recessed tip on. We chose Mohawk Carnival because of its penetrating hues that appear radiant even in the deep blue tone used here. The colored cover stock provided a beautiful base out of which the foil stamped logo bursts forth in gold, echoing the ultimate goal of the Summer Games’ competitors.
We also debossed a rather dramatic recessed well on the front cover where we affixed a digitally printed tip on that was adorned with a marbling patterned border that also featured throughout the text. The tip on was printed onto a Classic Laid stock, whose texture gave the piece a classic feel. For the interior text pages, we chose a warm Mohawk Via stock, which gave the guide’s content a natural feel.
